What could you do in a minute?  And how could a minute change your life?

Maybe you're taking one minute to make that phone call you've been putting off.

Maybe you use your minute to do 100 jumping jacks.

Maybe you use your minute to just... breathe... but find one minute today and see how impactful you can make that minute.

Well, hello and welcome back. This is your next Monday mini episode. These are just shorter episodes that give you just one little thing. To think about that can really have a huge impact on your life. And it's been really fun to receive the feedback I then getting around these Monday minis. It sounds like you guys are really enjoying it. That it's just a small little idea and yeah, I really appreciate getting the feedback and speaking of feedback, if you would like to leave me a review here on the podcast, it really does help me to reach more people, which helps me to help more people like you. So if you feel so inspired as to leave me a review, I would really truly appreciate it. So thank you very much. So today I wanted to really explore the idea of the power of a minute. I've really been thinking a lot about the things that I put off in life. That honestly, if I really did them, they would only take me a minute or less. Sometimes we really put off doing things like starting that load of laundry or writing off the counter top. Or I know for me, something that I've been putting off is taking my bag of bags down to be recycled. So today I want to take less than a minute to take my bag of bags to my car so that when I am downtown, I can remember, oh yeah, I remember I was going to drop those in the recycling bin. There are so many little tiny things that we just put off doing. Because they almost, I think sometimes feel a little bit too easy. And so they're really easy for us to just brush off, but they can have such a big impact. And how it is that we feel. So for example, a lot of people that I know they really put off making that phone call to set up that appointment that they've really been putting off. It feels really uncomfortable to go in for that appointment. They are not sure that they want to go in. So they put off making that one minute phone call and it just kind of kicks the can down the road, but actually prioritizing health, prioritizing self, and making that phone call can have such a big impact. My daughter who is 18, soon to be 19. She is working out a lot lately and we've been working out together, which has been a lot of fun, but she asked me the other day. What things I had done that had had the biggest impact on my health. And I told her, I said, you know what, honestly, it was when we were living in Texas. When we were living in Texas, let's see that must've been 16 years ago. And all of my babies were babies. They were all just teeny tiny. I think we moved when my youngest was about four months old. But we were living in Texas in a little tiny apartment. And we had a treadmill in our apartment. And I decided that I was just going to try something out. I needed it to be easy because I was a young mom. I had three little babies at home. And I just had a lot on my plate, so I wanted to get in shape, but I needed it to be easy. So I decided, okay, here's what I'm going to do. Every time I walked past the treadmill, I'm going to run 100 steps. Uphill. Now, this was in a teeny tiny apartment. Everything was on the same floor. And so I tended to pass that treadmill quite often throughout my day, as I would go to put some laundry in or, or get something for the kids to eat, I was constantly going by the treadmill. And so I would get on the treadmill. I'd hit go. And as it was starting to raise up on the incline, I would run my 100 steps and then I would let it back down. And that would be my workout. And I would just do that whenever I was able to, and honestly running 100 steps, took me about one minute each. Time. And I was honestly in the best shape of my life. I was so fit and so trim. And that's the tiniest I've been in quite some time. And it was all because I was willing to invest time into just one minute. So I want you to really think today about what is something that you could do today to really improve your own personal wellbeing. What might one minute of change do for you? I'll also share one more story quick that this last week I was having some conflict with Facebook. Now, those of you that have been listening for a long time know that this is a longtime drama. I finally got something resolved and then the rug was pulled out from underneath me and I was so frustrated. And so I was trying to make the tech work multiple times and I was like, I worked on it for about two hours and I was like, okay, you know what? My brain is fried. I just need a minute. So I took one minute and I just sat with my eyes closed in silence and just essentially did kind of a hard reboot of my own energy system. Right. And when I opened my eyes, it was amazing that then the thing I had just spent two hours working on. I was able to resolve it in two minutes. And it was all because I took that one minute to chest sit and restore myself. There are so many things in life where we honestly are doing ourselves a disservice. By not building in a minute. So think about what would be helpful for you if it's putting that load of things to donate in the back of the car right now, if it starting that load of laundry, if it's actually making your bed. If it's taking the time to put some lotion on or some yummy smelling essential oils. I think of some, one thing that you could do that would take a minute or less, that would improve the quality of your life. So, yeah, that's all I've got for you today. I hope that you have a wonderful week and I will talk to you on Thursday. All right, I'll see you then. Bye now.
